Matthew's Hope is a fully independent, faith-based, 501(c)3 non-profit homeless outreach, funded and supported by our community. The Volunteers, Community Partners, and staff members of Matthew’s Hope Ministries help connect guests with various resources, and services of need and facilitate opportunities for those desiring to move forward toward a life of independence and self-sustainability. Serving much of Central Florida, the Brevard County location in Cocoa provides a food pantry, medical care, Moving Forward Program, transitional housing and other outreach programs. We have over 1500 homeless people here in Brevard County, men, woman and children.

The ministry believes in offering a hand up, not just a hand out.

The ministry does not take a traditional approach to serving needs within the community.

Our overall goal is to create an organization that helps the homeless to grow emotionally, mentally, spiritually, physically, and vocationally.  Through relationship building, access to a wide range of services and education; we engender an environment where each guest, irrespective of ability, can cognitively and demonstratively achieve some semblance of growth and success for themselves. 

Homelessness is defined by the United States government as when a person “lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence, and if they sleep in a shelter designated for temporary living accommodations or in places not designated for human habitation.”

Freedom 7 Senior Community Center will be collecting items in need for Matthew's Hope to continue to help them serve our neighbors in need this Holiday Season. Attached is a list of hygiene, food and clothing items they need to restock their shelves. Feel free to print it and take it with you while out running your errands or I will have copies in my office. Please drop off the items to me directly during the centers hours by December 18th.
